In Loving Memory of Karin J. Rumbauskas

Karin J. Rumbauskas, of Whiting, NJ, passed away unexpectedly but surrounded by her loving family on January 31, 2025, at the age of 66.

Born on January 5, 1959, to Henry and Ruth Vence in Elizabeth, NJ, Karin grew up alongside her three brothers. She spent most of her life in Union County before retiring and settling in Whiting with her husband, Frank.

Karin was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, and grandmother who cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank, with whom she shared a beautiful life since their marriage in 1988. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished traditions.

She was a dedicated mother to Lauren and her husband, Chris, and their son, Rory, as well as to Dan and his wife, Stephanie, and their children, James and Emily. Karin also embraced the role of stepmother with warmth and kindness to Frank married to Dana, with daughters Agnes & Maeve, and Lisa alongside her husband Nathaniel, and boys Benjamin & Caleb.

Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she adored every moment spent with them. She was thrilled to continue to watch her family grow, and her memory will live on through them.

Karin was a woman of deep faith who loved God with all her heart. Her church was not just a place of worship but an extension of her family. She dedicated her time to serving others, whether through assisting with the church daycare, volunteering at events, or simply being a comforting presence to those in need. Her unwavering faith guided her every action, and she shared God’s love through kindness, generosity, and selflessness.

She was a loyal employee of AT&T, where she worked for 41 years as a manager across multiple departments. She took great pride in her career, always bringing dedication, warmth, and professionalism to her work.

Beyond her career, Karin’s true passion was her family. She loved hosting gatherings, preparing home-cooked meals, and making holidays truly special. Her home was a place of comfort, always filled with family photos, keepsakes, and the warmth of her selfless love. After retiring, she found joy in quilting, crocheting, exploring new crafts and hobbies, and continuing to share her love through cooking.

Karin had a heart of gold, always putting others first and ensuring that no one ever had to worry. She was the definition of a loving provider. Her kindness and generosity left an everlasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Karin was incredibly kind and had a servants heart for people. Hundreds of children were truly blessed to have her loving care when she led the pre/k team at our church. Our hearts are sorrowful for the loss and we are so thankful we were able to know her. Seeing the way Karin loved others inspires us to grow closer to God. She will be missed.

Dear Frank and family, I want to share that Karin was an answer to my prayers. I had been praying for a woman to enter my life; one that I could form a friendship with, one that loved the Lord, one that shared common interests with myself. The Lord sent His best, He sent Karin to cross my path through New Beginnings Church in Bayville. Karin truly was an angel here on earth. I enjoyed Karin’s sweet fellowship and looked forward to strengthening our friendship. I join you with a saddened heart but also rejoice with you that one day we will be re-united. I will continue to keep you all close to my heart with continued prayers. With my deepest condolences, Jenn

Frank, Dan, Lauren, and family, my deepest condolences to you. My dear sweet cousin Karin, I just saw you a few months ago and we said we would get together for dinner. I am so sorry we never got the chance to do so. I will hold the memories we had growing up, backyard bbq’s, swimming, camping at tip tam and driving around with our mom’s getting lost on purpose in my heart forever. Those were the good old days. You are in heaven now and that brings comfort. It’s not goodbye it’s see you later “Pookie”. Love you always. ❤️
